 The Annual Fund Minimize
Dear Sierra Madre School Community,

Congratulations to everyone who participated in last year's first ever Aunnul Fund! Because of your impressive donations and support, we raised over $115,000! this year we are hoping for even more success.

As we eagerly anticipate the new school year, we are excited about the possibilities and challenges that we will encounter in the coming months. Our children will be in the new classes, making new friends, and learning more than we thought possible. We know that our school special. Not only are our test scores among the highest in the district and the state, we are privileged to have two gorgeous campus facilities, a wonderful arts program, cutting-edge technology, middle school science, and many other fabulous programs run by our superior faculty and staff. Therefore Fund during the 2008-2009 school year. Here are the answers to some frequently asked questions:

  •  Why should I give to the Annual Fund?
Unfortunately, we are facing serious challenges because of the massive State budgets cuts to public education. None of us wants our children to suffer from this fiscal crisis. Unlikely government funds that are frequently restricted for specific uses, the funds raised by the Annual Fund are directed where our children need them the most.

  • How can I give to the Annual Fund?
By participating in our Annual Back-to-school Fall Giving Campaign! Gifts of every size are welcome as every dollar counts. If each student's family makes an average yearly donation of only $100 per child, we can raise over $90,000! Just think, $ 100 is less than the cost of admission for two kids at Disneyland. Keep in mind that all donations are fully tax deductible and many employers will match your contribution.

  • Is there proper over sight in place to assure my donation will be used effectively?
The Sierra Madre School Site Council, which is comprised of representatives from the school and parents, will determine the spending priorities. The Annual Fund Committee, consisting of concerned parents and community member will also be working with our principal, Ms. Bluemel, to coordinate and increase funding streams.

  • Will there be other opportunities to give?
Yes indeed! Look for information about upcoming Family and Adult Special Events throughout the year, and of course, our tremendously successful Annual Auction will be held in the Spring!

On behalf of the Annual Fund Committee, thank you for contributing to our school-Which is to contribute to the success of our children. If you would like further information about the Annul Fund or the Fall Giving Campaign, please contact contact the school office.

Sincerely,

The Annual Fund Committee
